Roanoke, Virginia...Where I live and why I don't mind staying home this weekend. Funny how it took a New York filmmaker's eye to make such a nice flick. I think sometimes the locals don't appreciate what we have here and it takes an "outsider" to remind them. Enjoy and c'mon down y'all, or, better yet...youse guyz!

Elena! Wow! I loved this film. It is refreshing to see a young person's perspective on Roanoke. So many complain that there is nothing to do here. I wish they would have shown more of the Farmer's Market and Market Street but they showed it at night, which is more in line with what the kids want to see. Just loved it..thanks for showing! Yes..we are lucky to live in such a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteYes we are lucky Cheryl. Of course there are many parts of Roanoke that he didn't focus on that certainly deserve to be showcased, but at least this film shows a glimpse of the lifestyle. I hope more positive films about Roanoke emerge and the valley continues to grow. I want my kids to stay here after they graduate college and pray there will be career opportunities for them to do so!!!
